The older I get, the more I wish life would slow down to the pace I felt when I was 10 years old. But, at the same time, I'm counting down until the next big plan or trip I have coming up. I can't mark the days off fast enough. In 2019, I want to try and be more present. This hobby of mine has my phone glued to my hands worse than ever. After an hour somehow flies by in what I thought was 15 minutes, I realize I haven't even been productive with the time I just wasted. I hope to be more purposeful with the time I spend on social media-typing, editing, and sharing things that entertain and help you guys-not just mindless scrolling and comparing myself to others. Through this past holiday season, I've tried reminding myself to just enjoy where I am now, even if I'm at the same uncle's brother's holiday party that I have to go to every year, and cousin Linda always sings Christmas carols like a sick donkey. (Which is a totally made up situation, btw 😂). Realize how lucky I am to be at that place with those people with a warm meal in a cozy house, because one day, traditions will change, and sometimes we lose the people we love. Live in the moment. Change my perspective to see the good in every day, and the silver lining in a crappy moment. The older I get, the more I realize how precious the simple moments I spend with family & friends are, and I want to make the most of it!
I wanted to share some new and old quotes that really resonate with me and I try to keep in the back of my mind at all times. I hope they help shape a wonderful 2019 for each of you!
